Tura, Aug 12: An eight year old was yesterday abducted from Chibinang
in West Garo Hills in presence of her mother.
The minor is a son of an employee of Meghalaya co-operative Apex Bank,
posted at Garobadha in West Garo Hills.
Chibinang is about 90 km from here, near Phulbari town. The incident
took place at around 8 pm yesterday. The FIR states that the abductors
looted cash and jewellery from the house and took away the boy.
Police said five unidentified gunmen entered the house by climbing
through the compound walls. The gang then proceeded to loot the house
and broke open the cupboard. After looting whatever they could, they
took the boy and fled away.
“We have leads on the case and have launched a search operation to
rescue the boy”, said a police official.(SP News)
