Mr. Nilberth complaints to CEO of the ECI  on illegal supply of Sugar to Bangladesh

Shillong, April 17:  Mr. Nilberth Ch. Marak, social activist residence of Dawa Nengsep Gittim, East Garo Hills District Meghalaya ha sent complaints against the District Administration (Deputy Commissioner), Superintendent of Police of North Garo Hills, West Garo Hills Tura and South Garo Hills District Baghmara.

This complaints is for allowing the rampant and illegal exportation of Sugar to the neighboring county of Bangladesh and allowing the overloading truck to flying the public road in violation of Supreme Court order and in violation against the Model code of conduct

In the complaints letter Mr. Nilberth stated that on 6th April 2024, he had  filed the complaint before your esteemed office against  Shri. Bruno A. Sangma the Superintendent of Police Resubelpara North Garo Hills District Meghalaya and against the Custom Officer of Gasuapara South Garo Hills District Meghalaya for indulging   in illegal transportation of goods like Sugar, Onion and other eatable foods to the neighboring country of Bangladesh.

He alleged that  illegally allowing the Sugar, Onion etc to export to Bangladesh  without having valid document and permission from the competent authority, which is required as per various provision of law. In his previous complaint dated.06.04.2024, He  have stated that thousands of trucks and other vehicles had been illegally transporting and exporting the Sugar, onions to the Bangladesh without valid license or without proper permission from the competent authority or from the concerned Department.

That on being received of my complaint the  esteemed office was pleased to consider his  said complaint and have taken up the matter seriously with the concerned authorities and subsequently replaced Bruno A. Sangma the SP of North Garo Hills with Abraham T. Sangma as North Garo Hills SP.

It may be mentioned that your good office have taken the matter seriously and immediately taken the prompt action by transferring Shri. Bruno A. Sangma SP of North Garo Hills and replaced with Shri. Abraham T. Sangma as SP of North Garo Hills for the purpose of free and fair Election to the Lok Sabha 2024.

That it may be mentioned that despite of the Chief Election Commission of India taking the serious action against the SP of North Garo Hills by replacing him with new SP, there is no respite in illegal  export of Sugar to the Bangladesh and there is no action  by  the District Administration and SP of North Garo Hills.

South Garo Hills and West Garo Hills as the illegal exportation of Sugar and Onion to the Bangladesh had been continuing without any respite and it is learnt from the reliable source that   the District Administration and the SP of the above mentioned District are allowing the free movement of illegal Sugar transportation and allowing over loading of truck carrying Sugar, onion etc to freely moved to the neighboring country of Bangladesh without checking.

That due to the complete ignorance and negligence on the part of the  above mentioned District Administration and the SP of respective District   mentioned in the above, unwarranted incident have taken place today i.e. on 16th April 2024, as  Bakgla RCC Bridge at Joshipara under South Garo Hills District Baghmara, Meghalaya connecting Dimapara and Karongre   have completely collapsed due to the overloading trucks carrying illegal Sugar exportation were  passing through the said bridge.

The road falls under NH 62 but is merely a highway on paper, though the tonnage on this bridge is restricted to 9 MT the trucks carried loads in excess of more then 20 MT. The bridge was collapsed completely while two overloading trucks bearing number AS-01-MC-4307 and AS-01-FC-6875, proprietor’s name Shri. Akrirul Islam Faraji carrying illegal Sugar export were flying on the Bakgla RCC Bridge.

That due to the complete collapsed of Bakgla RCC Bridge it has  badly affected the life of the citizen particularly those people who are residing at South Garo Hills District Baghmara Meghalaya and moreover it may be mentioned that the said bridge is the main bridge through which the people of West Garo Hills and South Garo Hills including the Govt. officers and the employee of State Govt. of Meghalaya are passing through for their office work.

That due to the collapsed of bridge the upcoming Lok Sabha Election which is going to be held on 19th April 2024, is going to be affected very badly particularly for the Govt. staffs who were deploy to various polling station of South Garo Hills and West Garo Hills and also to the voters who are residing in South Garo Hills and West Garo Hills Meghalaya as there is no other alternative road or bridge connecting from South Garo Hills to West Garo Hills.

In view of the above fact and circumstances of the case the undersigned humbly prays to take the matter seriously with the concerned authority and to take strong and  appropriate action against the respective District Administration.

The     SP of North Garo Hills, South Garo Hills, West  Garo Hills and Custom Officers of Gasuapara South Garo Hills District Meghalaya for violating the Model code of conduct and indulging in illegal export of Sugar to Bangladesh during Election and after the announcement of the Model code of conduct for upcoming General Election to the Lok Sabha.
