Chennai, October 15: The Pro-Am event of the Express Exclusive presents Chennai Open Golf Championship 2016 was won by Mhow-based professional Mukesh Kumar and his team on Saturday. The leading amateur golfers from Chennai competed at the Pro-Am event.
The Pro-Am was played in the texas scramble format where the team’s best ball was chosen on every shot including the putting green. After the best ball was chosen all other players were to place their ball within One Club Length (on the putting green within One Score Card Length) before continuing play. Each team consisted of one professional and three amateurs.
It was double delight for Mukesh Kumar, the winner of the Express Exclusive presents Chennai Open Golf Championship 2016. After bagging the main event on Friday, he wrapped up the Pro-Am title as well on Saturday.
Mukesh Kumar and his team comprising of amateurs Mr. Ravi Vishwanathan, Mr. Sriram Ananth and Mr. Karthik Krishnaswamy won the event with a score of 53.8.
PGTI member N Thangaraja’s team finished runner-up with a score of 54. Thangaraja’s team comprised of amateurs Mr. V Ramakrishnan, Dr. Gunaseelan and Mr. Pramod M.
