Shillong, November 11: The union mister of state incharge finance and corporate affair Mr Arjun Ram Meghwal today held the review meeting with the official of the North Eastern Council along with the official of the state government on the project implemented in the North Eastern state.
Speaking to media after the review meeting the union minister said that, in the meeting today he has focus mainly on the three areas, Tourism, Road infrastructure and Power. The NEC may submit project to the GOI in this coming budget session.
“I have told the officer of the NEC to focus on Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) because unless we do more work on the augmentation of towers we cannot fulfill the programme of direct benefit transfer (DBT), and the programme Digital India”
The main trust is given on road infrastructure project particularly in road sector; whatever hurdle they facing they may review the project quarterly and write to the GOI, they have submitted the memorandum to me I will personally look into it, will discuss with the finance department will provide more money through DoNER to NEC to implement properly the infrastructure sector like, road, transport, digital India programmne.
He said that most roads are constructed by Border Road Organization (BRO) and some road are constructed by the PWD and he have asked to prepare the project also from Bharat Mala project also, because the prime minister is emphasis that development of North East development is one of the priority of the government of India.
On the power sector the union minister of state in charge finance said that, we have two three scope, in power sector like Hydel Power, solar power and wind power, I have asked the NEC to prepare project and submitted the project to the DoNER if fund is insufficient we will provide in the supplementary demand because the session is going to start on 16 of this month.
The union minister on his reply to the problems face by the common man due to this demonetization, he said “ people who opposed it are thus people holding with them black money, this will destroy terrorism and will end corruption, the problems will be there but will solved it. The government has taken many steps to see that people are not facing the prolems”.
