Shillong, September 02: The Nurses of NEIGRIHMS under the banner of All India Government Nurses Federation (AIGNF) protested peacefully at NEIGRIHMS hospital on 2nd September, 2016 without affecting patient care and other services to press for their demands.
There are ten chatter of demand that they have put before the union government, they are Entry level grade pay of Nurses should be fixed as Pay Band-3 GP.5400/- and cascading effect on subsequent higher posts.
Risk Allowance, Night Duty Allowance, Telephone Allowance, conveyance allowance, night duty allowance should be granted, Nursing allowance should be doubled. Nursing teaching staff pay should be revised as per Ministry of Health and Family welfare, GOI order issued related to sixth pay commission.
The AIGNF also want that the government should extend the benefits and allowances for all cadres of employees of NEIGRIHMS at par with AIIMS. Govt should also Creation of ANS posts in NEIGRIHMS, and reducing the working hours of Nurses to 40 hours in a week.
The government should solve the problem of Irregularities in crediting of employee and employer New Pension Scheme (NPS) contribution in employee account. It also high time for the regularization of the services of the employee who appointed on Contract and all the Outsource Nurses should be appointed on contract. No outsourcing of Nurses should be exercised as per Govt. of India orders.
The NEIGRIHMS administration and Ministry of Health and family are requested to settle the genuine demands of the Nurses within 30 days. If the demands are not met within this stipulated period, Nurses of NEIGRIHMS will intensify their protest and join mass casual leave, hunger strike etc.
The institute and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt.of India are responsible any untoward incidences and harm to patients, said Mr L Anand the general of the organization in the press statement issued today.
