Shillong, November 26: On Friday night at around 8.30 pm an encounter took place between the police and the GNLA militant outfit at the place Dawagre near Willamnager, in this encounter Sundaybirth T Sangma was shot death.
The Police after getting information the presence of the militant outfit in the area cordoned the area and the firing started from the militant and the police retaliated and in the encounter one militant followers of the Commander in Chief of the GNLA was shot death.
The police recover one AK-47 and one pistol from the encounter side, the militant who was shot death is known as Ruga T Samga in the militant group. The police said that the exchange of fire lasted more than fifteen minit.
