Shillong, November 19: The people of the state are frustrated with the present Congress led Government, about the upcoming assembly election to be held in Meghalaya in the early part of 2018, Sangma said it is to early to say anything now, as the party is in the process of strengthen is position across the state.
He however, said as they people of the state are frustrated with the present Congress led Government under the leadership of Dr. Mukul Sangma, an alternative Government should emerge to replace the present Government in the state.
The NPP national president foreseen the pre-poll alliance is need from the likeminded political parties and should be able to form the Government. When asked about the BJP, Sangma said his party will not have any problem in working together in forming the next Government. He also said that there is so much in fighting within the Congress and Chief Executive Member of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council, Mr. P.N. Syiem is a glaring example of media report.
When asked to comment on the High Court’s order dismissing Dekkanshi D. Shira’s poll petition against him, Sangma said that since the legal battle is over and have no hurt feeling about it. It is her right to file the petition and now that it is over, I would week her cooperation for effective implementation central Schemes in the state.
When asked about his performance in the Lok Sabha, Sangma said his main concern is knowing the actual status of the shift from Look East Police to Act East Police, the schemes of the youth, air connectivity with the state. He said the Centre is working out a scheme to help local entrepreneurs to run small aircrafts in the region with subsidized incentives depending on the distance they fly.
