Smugglers are using different disguised techniques to smuggle the cattle to Bangladesh

Shillong, September 11: The BSF troops deployed at Purakhasia in West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya, saw some suspicious movement near International Border, party rushed towards the point and apprehended one Indian liquor smuggler with 36 Btls of liquor while he was trying to exhilarate into Bangladesh.

He was later identified as Mehonath M. Sangma, a resident of Village-Sakha Badamgiri, under  Gambigiri police station, of West Garo Hills District.

In another incident, the BSF troops once again seized 17 Nos Cattle laden in atruck from the bordering area of Chiringiri, South Garo Hills District of Meghalaya while being smuggled into Bangladesh from India.

The BSF troops also seized 12 Nos cattle from the area of Baldamgiri, West Garo Hills and Kasinda, East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya. In spite of the BSF troops incessantly seizing cattle in the International Border, with Bangladesh, but the smugglers putting frequent attempts to smuggle cattle for the greed of swelled profit.

Smugglers are using different disguised techniques to smuggle the cattle from India to Bangladesh but well trained BSF troops are alert to foil such attempts. The Border Security Force is keeping an effective surveillance to foil any ill design of smugglers and other anti-national elements at international border.

Apprehended person and seized items have been handed over to concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.
