Shillong, April, 20: Swachh Bharat Fortnight and Nagrik Jagruk Fortnight is being celebrated in the entire North Eastern Region by NCC from 12-24 Apr 2017. A series of functions are being organized at various places on Cleanliness Drive, Digital Payments and Road Safety by units of NCC Directorate. A lecture on digital payments and cleanliness drive was organized in this series at NCC Directorate, NER, Shillong on 19 Apr 2017, wherein all the officers and staff of NER Directorate participated.
On this occasion, Maj Gen RGR Tiwari, ADG, NCC Directorate, NER, stressed upon the benefits of digital payments and cleanliness in our life. He also paid glowing tribute to Lt Col M Chowdhury (Retd) who left for heavenly abode on 31 Mar 2017 at Shillong.
Remembering Lt Col M Chowdhury (Retd), the ADG said that Lt Col Chowdhury was closely associated with NCC in North Eastern Region in promoting national integration and contributing to development of youth by sponsoring Awards for outstanding NCC Cadets of Meghalaya, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. On behalf of NCC fraternity of NER, the ADG whole heartedly acknowledged the contributions of Lt Col M Chowdhury (Retd) in promoting NCC and nationalism in North Eastern Region.
