Shillong, March 09: Around 10.30 pm night aloud sound was hear around Iewduh market area and the sound was very unusual sound, after some time it was learn that bomb blast occurred at Themiew Mawlong.
The blast that occurred is on the place where people dump their garbage, in the incident one person was injured and he was taken to Woodland Hospital for treatment, one shop was damage in the incident.
The police who were in the area rushed to the spot and the bomb squad arrived on the place where the bomb blast occurred, till filling of this report the police is yet to ascertain what type of bomb and the police has cordon the area.
The statement issued from the Superintendent of Police of East Khasi Hills District late night state that the blast was near near syndicate bus stand, near Punjabi lane at around 2230 hours.
The blast was inside a small abandoned tin structure in the incident no casualty reported till now. Damage confined only to the tin structure and a few window panes nearby.
Further report on the damages awaited. Preliminary investigation suggests the blast to be caused by IED. Further equiry and investigation under progress said the Superintendent of Police of East Khasi Hills District Mr. Rituraj Ravi.
