Shillong. March 20: BSF Meghalaya Foils Smuggling Attempts, Seizes Phensedyl and Sugar on International Border in the different operations, conducted on March 19, 2024, after received prior information.
The alert troops of BSF Meghalaya successfully foiled attempts of smuggling along the International border by confiscating Phensedyl and a huge quantity of Sugar which were meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh.
Acting on a specific tip-off, the vigilant troops of 4 Bn BSF Meghalaya seized 350 bottles of prohibited cough syrup Phensedyl while being smuggled to Bangladesh through the International border of West Jaintia Hills Meghalaya.
In other operations conducted by vigilant troops of BSF Meghalaya, over 17,000 Kgs of sugar was also seized from different bordering districts of Meghalaya. The seized Phensedyl and sugar consignment were handed over to the local Customs office for further legal proceedings.
