The DC of EJH District warn all shopkeepers, traders not to take advantage of the common man

Shillong, November 18: The Deputy Commissioner Supply East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat has directed all shopkeepers and traders not to take advantage of the common man and to sell all essential commodities and medicines to any customer without any conditions impose to the customers.

The notice has been issued in view of the complaints received from Hima Sutnga, Youth Federation Sutnga that some shopkeepers and traders are taking advantage after the demonetization of currency by the Government. After demonetization, banks have issued new notes and smaller old denomination to the people but it appears that some individual are hoarding smaller change preventing circulation in the market and that shopkeepers and traders are creating more problems in spite that smaller denomination is in short supply which in turn creates more hardship to the common man in the market.

Further, all are instructed to use and accept soiled notes Rs 100 denominations and below till the supply of new notes are available. Any lapses on the part of the Shopkeepers, Traders and Customers, stern action shall be taken by the Deputy Commissioner Supply East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat according to the Law. Any violations by persons should be reported to the Deputy Commissioner Supply East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat immediately without further daily.
