Shillong,August 17: The Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) Madanrting Circle on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner East Khasi Hills District demanding immediate action against a particular wine shop which is still running its business.
It may be reminded that earlier the State Government had order the closure all wine shops located 200 meters from the national highway, educational institutions, hospitals, places of worship, etc.
Speaking to newsmen after meeting the Deputy Commissioner, Donbok Dkhar president HNYF Madanrting Circle said that the DC had assured them that officers will be sent to inspect the area and if found that its true action will be taken.
Informing that the particular wine shop is located at Madanrting Block F, he said, “It’s ironic that this particular wine shop is still open despite the fact that it’s very close to a place of worship.”
“We appeal the DC to immediately take legal action againg this wine shop as per law,” he said.
