The EAC organized health camp at Tyrsad village

Shillong, May 07:A Multi-speciality Health Camp was organized by the Eastern Air Command (Unit) of Indian Air Force (IAF) at Tyrsad village, Mawphlang Block today. It was inaugurated by Mrs Devika Hari Kumar, President, Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional) and was attended by senior IAF officials including Air Vice Marshal M Singh AVSM Vr C VSM, Senior Officer-in-Charge Administration.

Air Vice Marshal Sudhir Rai, Principal Medical Officer, Eastern Air Command,             Group Captain MA Sridhar VSM, Commanding Officer, Eastern Air Command (Unit). A team of medical specialists was also brought in from IAF hospital Jorhat for the camp with specialisation in Medicine, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Eye, ENT and Dermatology as well as a Dentist. The laboratory facilities for detection of anaemia and diabetes were also made available to the participants. Around 850 villagers have benefitted from the camp.

In this endeavour of fulfilling its social responsibilities, the IAF also conducted lectures on a healthy lifestyle and health promotion. The overwhelming participation by the villagers aided in achieving the goal of screening for diseases, healthy education and health promotion. The Village Headman Mr Lyndoh extended his gratitude towards the IAF for the organisation and conduct of the health camp.
