The employee of GHADC under the banner of NGEA denied the claim of the CEM of GHADC

Tura, May 23: The employee of GHADC under the banner of NGEA strongly and vehemently denied the claim of Mr. Benedict Marak the CEM of GHADC where he had written a letter dated.22nd May 2021 requesting the Deputy Commissioner West Garo Hills Tura to depute the security personal at the GHADC Office to prevent untoward incident so that GHADC staff can function smoothly.

The NGEA alleged that the CEM of the GHADC in his letter to the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Benedict Marak also claimed that staffs of GHADC agreed to resume offices after negotiation with the members of executive Committee, GHADC subject to received their 5 months’ pending salary in old scale, the letter further stated that employees of GHADC will attend office from 24th May 2021.

In response to the claimed of Benedict Marak they, the employees and the Executive Member of NGEA strongly denied the same and stated that there is no such agreement and negotiation between the Employees and the Executive member of GHADC to receive the five months’ pending salary and to resume office and there is no iota of truth in his claim.

The NGEA  condemn the statement of the  statement and they demand apologize from Benedict Marak for making such false claim and lying to the public.

The NGEA said that it is so shocking, unprecedented and unexpected where a person who hold such a prestigious and constitutional post as a CEM of GHADC who dare to lie to the Deputy Commissioner who is the head of the District Administration.

And thirdly if there is any negotiation and agreement between Employees and the Executive member of GHADC, to accept the 5 months salary and to resume office, where is the letter of negotiation or agreement who have signed in the agreement, and no agreement can’t be made without signing of both the parties.

Logically in the letter dated.22nd May 2021 Address to the Deputy Commissioner is believed to be incomplete and unsustainable if the said letter submitted to the Deputy Commissioner is without enclosing the agreement between the parties, i.e between GHADC and Employees.

The executive member of NGEA is not a militant’s outfit; we don’t carry arms and bombs to attack the Officers and asking DC to deployed security personal in GHADC at this juncture is not required.

In fact on 20 May 2021 on the day when we lodged the FIR against two officers i.e Shri. Sukumar N. Marak Superintending Engineer Civil Work and Shri. Niksang G. Momin Executive Engineer, Civil Works of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council Tura, CEM of GHADC was in the Office and we were waiting till 5 -6am expecting that he would talk to us but he just left the office without a word.

It is unbelievable that as head of GHADC which is a govt. institution and as a head of the State, the present Chief Executive Member Shri. Benedic Marak and present Chief Minister of the State Shri. Conrad K. Sangma should gracefully resigned from their respective post as CEM of GHADC and as CM of the State if they can’t arrange and pay the pending salary of 34 months to the employees and is so shameful on their part as responsible Minister and head of GHADC.

It is stated that the maximum required amount to clear one year salary is only Rs.48 to 50 Crore which will be sufficient to pay one year salary in new scale however our leaders are not willing to arrange even such amount this clearly indicate that they don’t have the political will to resolved the ongoing issue of GHADC, said Mr.  Senora Johny Arengh President NGEA and others Executive Members of the NGEA in the press statement issued today.
