Tura, June 30: The Garo Hills State Movement today started again their public rally to press for the Separate Garo State by staging a rally at Kherapara In West Garo Hills District where hundreds of people from the locality participate.
On the demand for the separate Garo state the AYWO recently had submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma that the state government should create a separate Garo state.
This demand for separate Garo state was incited by late Clifford R Marak who is the president of the Garo National Council, GNC as a legislator he brought a motion on the issued for separate Garo state bu was rejected by the Assembly.
