Shillong, September 30: Today morning an encounter took place Dawa Nengjata near williamnager between the police and a group of militant which lasted more than twenty minute and in this encounter one militant was shot death.
The militant who was shot death by the police has been identified as Balmit Marah residence Rongchekgre East Garo Hills District. The team of police surrounded the area after getting information that militant are stationing in the area.
From the place of occurrence, the police recovered on INSAS riffle in good condition, three numbers of Magazines, 49 live amunation, one sniper and many bullets of different weapons.
The police also recovered 36 hand grenade with others materials belonging to the militants like an identity card that belong to Morek Ch. Marak a GNLA member.
