Baghmara, March 8: The Garo Student Union held a public meeting at Baghmara today to highlight on the dilapidated condition of the National High Way NH-62 that pass through the town the public meeting was held at the Baghmara Govt. School Playground.
In this public meeting the GSU demanded from the District administration to regulate No Entry for plying of coal trucks from 6 am to 6 pm across Baghmara Town and all along NH-62. In a meeting the public also demanded for immediate repairing and expansion by black topping for NH-62 which since tis road is the only lifeline for the citizens of South Garo Hills.
At present the condition of the road is in a very dilapidated condition, the GSU term this particular road is one of the worst road, in this public meeting the GSU condemn the concern department for delaying the working process for black topping repairing for NH-62 after all the office procedure were done, according to the reliable sources said, said Mr Chuba R Marak President of the GSU Southern Zone.
