Shillong, June 05: The publicity Secretary of the band outfit Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) Sainkupar Nongtraw in his press statement issued to section of the press said that, at this juncture the HNLC has decided unanimously to forward the name of Shri Disparsing Rani as interlocutor who shall be deemed fit to carry on forward the formalities of the proposed peace.
The HNLC also appreciation to the Seng khasi Mawsynram for taking up the initiative to raise out their concerns for the rights and recognition of the khasi community, thereby making a representation in the form of a memorandum to the Prime Minister that only the Seng Khasi had the sense and guts to make representation on their behalf regarding the appointment of interlocutor in order to initiate the proposed peace talks.
The HNLC has criticizes the present Chief Minister for not taking step for the peace process on this issue the HNLC has sent a direct communication to the PM and minister home affairs Riju to take interest in the upliftment of the Khasi Jaintia community and affairs of the region, by taking action against the CM for turning a deaf ear to the proposed peace talks by the HNLC.
The HNLC thereby rejects the state machinery MUA2 on the grounds of ethnic
discrimination and unequal representation of the Khasi Jaintia people.
