The hon’ble Court convicted Miss Suman ten years imprisonment

Shillong, June 17: On 28th April, 2010 at about 4.00 pm Shillong Police apprehended one Miss Suman Deb at Rynjah while she was tlying to sell a packet of Spasmoproxyvon.

On being apprehended she was taken to her house situated at Lapalang from where a consigment of narcotic drugs were recovered.

Accordingly a case under the provision of NDPS Act was registered and after thorough investigation, the case was charge sheeted and the accused Miss Suman Deb was tried in the hon’ble Court of Special Judge(NDPS), Shillong and after long trial, the hon’ble Court convicted the accused on 13.6.2014 and sentence her to undergo regorious imprisonment for 10(ten) years and to pay a fine of Rupees one lakh and in default a further term of smiple imprisonment of one year for her offence u/s 22(c) of NDPS Act.

The case was investigated by then Sub-inspector Subir Sangma now P.I.Khliehriat Court assisted by WPSl H.P.Lytan. The investigation was duly supervised by the then Deputy Superintendent of Police(Crime) Shri Vivek Syiem,MPS now Superintendent of Police(City), Shillong.
