Shillong, March 25: The Indian Metrological Department for caste heavy rain with Thunderstorm and lightning activity over Meghalaya on 25th and 26th of March 2024. Significant Meteorological features; the cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam and neighbourhood at 1.5 km above mean sea level persists.
A cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Bangladesh and neighbourhood extending upto 0.9 km above mean sea level. The trough from northwest Bihar to southeast Assam now runs from northeast Madhya Pradesh to southeast Assam across Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
Under its influence Heavy rain with thunderstorm/lightning is likely to occur at isolated places over Meghalaya on 25th and 26th of March 2024. Available data indicates that light rain occurred over Meghalaya during the last 24hrs.
