Shillong, November 23: The Khasi Disabilities Association (KDA) at their central executive committee decided to protest against the apathy attitude of the government by holding six hours sit in demonstration on the 2th December starting from 10 Am in the morning to 4 Pn in the afternoon, near the Additional secretariat.
The KDA has no alternative since the state government of Meghalaya has not implemented the act “the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities Protection of Right and Full Participation) Act, 1995”. The Organization had met the government on the 2th December 2015 and they were assured to implement, but till date nothing has been done by the government.
The organization requested all its members to come on that day to show their grievances and the apathy attitude of the government against them, the KDA will celebrate the World Disable day by holding this demonstration this year 2016, said Mr Starwin Kharjana President Khasi Disabilities Association.
