Shillong, January 02: The Meghalaya Transport Corporation Workers Union (MTCWU) today resume their agitation to put pressure on the Management of the Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC) to grand their dues, their salary which is pending another three month.
The Secretary of the Union Mr R Rumnong, said that their demand is not only their salary but the management should follow the same calculation on the gratuity the basic and the DA. All the predecessors who come as the Managing Director of the MTC were IAS and IPS they have follow the same procedure, only this new MD want to change, change in what way sai Mr Rumnong.
From the Union they have given two days’ time to the management of the MTC to call for the dialogue with the union to solve the impasse between the Union and the Management, the Union want from the state Government to remove the present managing Director of the MTC. The Management should call for the Dialogue before the 4th of this Month.
If the Management did not respond to this demand they will go for total indefinite strike in the whole state of Meghalaya, the entire operation of the MTC will come into effect from the 5th of this month.
