Shillong, December 20: the Pre-Christmas Celebration for Children of Child Care Institutions (CCIs) under the theme: “Christmas isn’t a season it is a feeling, it is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting” held on 20th December, 2016 at U Soso Tham Auditorium, Shillong organised by the Office of the State Child Protection Society, ICPS, Shillong and District Child Protection Units under the Social Welfare Department.
Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Social Welfare Department, Mr T. Dkhar graced the inaugural function as Chief Guest. Secretary and Director, Social Welfare Department, Mr H. M. Shangpliang and officials from the Social Welfare Department were also present during the inaugural programme.
Children from Shelter Homes, Orphanages and Girls’ Homes from across the Khasi Hills, Jaintia Hills and Ri-Bhoi Districts took part in the celebration.
