Shillong, March 7: The Police of Sardar Police Station on receipt of the information from staff of Hotel Assembly in Police Bazar that one occupant of a room hadn’t come out for more than a day.
The Police team from Sadar Police Station in presence of witnesses, broke open the door. A dead body of the deceased named Sijo Joseph, Age- 47 years , resident of Beltola Road, Guwahati was found lying on the bed.
The inquest has been carried out and prima facie it seems to be a case of death due to overdose of sedatives and anti-depressants. No signs of foul play were seen. The body has been sent for post mortem. The family is being contacted and further investigation in this matter is being conducted.
