Shillong, August 0 3: The state rally of the Joint Action Committee of All Teachers’ Association of Meghalaya (JACATAM) schedule to be held on 5 August at 10.30Am at fire brigade ground, Shillong will proceed as planned this was informed by Publicity Secretary of the teacher association.

“We will go ahead with our state rally since the state government has remained silent on the demands made by the teaching community,” Babu Kular Khongjirem publicity secretary of JACATAM said here on Wednesday.

He also urges all teachers from different units, schools irrespective of any categories to attend the said rally.“The teachers can contact their respective  zone or district leaders in case of any doubts,” he said.

He added, “We appeal to all MC, principals/headmasters/headmistress of schools to kindly cooperate for the cause of teaching community and for better education system in the state.”He further said that the next course of agitation program will be announced on that day.

It may be reminded that on 29 July, members of the Joint Action Committee of All Teachers’ Association of Meghalaya (JACATAM) staged a protest against the delay of the state government on their demands to of provincialising the services of teachers despite stern warning from the said association.
