Shillong, March 20: This year’s World Oral Health Day was observed on the 20th March 2024 at Bharat Nirman Rajeev Gandhi Sewa Kendra Building, Mawdiangdiang. The programme was chaired by Dr I.Mylliemngap, Dental Surgeon of Smit PHC.
The welcome speech was given by Dr B.Kanti, District Nodal Officer of NOHP and NTCP, East Khasi Hills District. Short speeches were also addressed by Dr F.V.Kharshiing DHS, MCH & FW and Dr S.Lyngdoh, DMHO, East Khasi Hills District on this year’s theme ” A Happy Mouth is a Happy Body”.
A health talk and awareness on the importance of oral health was given by Dr N. Kharumnuid, Dental Officer, NEIGRIHMS. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks given by Dr D.Mukhim, Dental Surgeon, Pomlum PHC.
The programme was attended by Dental Surgeons from various facilities of East Khasi Hills District, school students, staffs from Mawryngkneng Block and Executive Members of Dorbar Shnong Mawkasiang.
Oral screening and distribution of gifts were also given to all the participants of today’s programme. In conclusion, this year’s programme was also another successful event with the help and support given by the organisers.
