A book titled ‘Ka Bishar Klim Ha Warmawsaw’ authored by Rev. K Neldarson was released

Shillong, August  22: A book titled ‘Ka Bishar Klim Ha Warmawsaw’ authored by Rev. K Neldarson Sohkhlet was released at Shillong Press club here on Monday by Chief Guest Embhah Syiemlieh, MLA Mawlai constituency.

The book speaks about the subject concerning adultery, inter community marriages beside others. The author has dedicated the book to Eugeneson Lyngdoh a home grown football player currently playing for the I-League club Bengaluru FC.

The first copy of the book was presented by the author to the sister of the state footballer, Evaline Lyngdoh.

Before releasing the book, Syiemlieh, said, “The release of this book should not end here but its message should spread across Khasi and Jaintia Hills so that other villages will take an example from the Warmawsaw village on the various rules and regulations implemented by this village on adultery beside others.”

He observed that the current situation of marriage concerning the people of the state is very discouraging.

“A strong marriage will ultimately strengthen the state however a weak marriage will end the age old tradition of the people of the state especially when we talk about inter community marriages,” he said.

Earlier, describing his journey which transpired him to write the book, Sohkhlet said, “This is only possible because of the support I have received from my family and friends.”

He added, “This is the first village which has implemented the right to education or free and compulsory education since 1964 and the village does not allow any student to drop out until he or she passes class VI.”

According to him, since the year 1970 till 2009 the village of Warmawsaw has achieved 100 percent literacy rate.

“The reason which tickled me to write on adultery is because this village has showed me that if there is anyone who goes against the sanctity of marriage the village will take action again them,” he said.

Meanwhile, Marmawsaw Sordar, M Doloi said, “The Chief Minister Mukul Sangma has recently released a scheme for single mothers and this will only encourage the women population to chase their husbands.”

He further stated that the release of the scheme by the state government will only have a negative impact on the lives of the people of the state.
