Shillong, November 20: A health awareness camp on “DIABETES” to create awareness amongst Officers’, Subordinate Officers, Jawans and their families and blood Donation Camp” on the eve of BSF Day in collaboration with NEIGRIHMS, Shillong was organized by Frontier Headquarter, BSF and Composite Hospital, BSF Shillong on 19th Nov’ 2016.
Dr Ibandalin, MD of Composite Hospital Shillong delivered lecture on “Diabetes”, cause, symptoms and its prevention. The importance of fitness was explained in detail with remedial measures in preventing the diseases.
The Health awareness camp was inaugurated by Shri P K Dubey, inspector General, Meghalaya Frontier which was attended by a huge number of force personnel. Sh P K Dubey, IG BSF Also led the troops in blood donating camp by donation blood by himself as first donor. 125 BSF Jawans voluntarily donated blood to NEIGRIMHS as a good will gesture for people of Meghalaya. The BSF has been conducting such programmes earlier also. This effort of BSF Jawans will definitely help the needy people in Meghalaya.
