Shillong, April 14: Aditesh Bajaj shot an 83 on the opening day of the Shlilong Open here at the Par 70 Shillong Open to take a slender one stroke lead into the final round tomorrow.
Samrish Sen trails the leader sharing the second spot in a four-way tie with Sonu Kumar Rai, Kaustav Coomar & local lad Kevin W Khyriem. Sukhraj Khanuja and home boy Rahman Ali are tied for sixth place a further four strokes behind at 88.
Shubham Adak leads Category B with a score of 89 tied with Lakshya Bajaj followed by hometown hopeful Franky Kurbah a further seven strokes behind.
Ramayush Ray leads by a massive eleven strokes in Category C with an 83 over Saquib Hussain. Shillong’s Animesh Kulshrestha is place third a further stroke behind while city mate Mohit Balasubramaniam is tied for fourth with Krish Sood of Jalpaiguri and Assam’s Maitreya Milan Saikia.
Aditya Khaitan leads Category D while Prashant Agarwal leads Category E over Deeyon Sian Pao of Shillong Golf Club.
Local girl Kayra Reying Pao leads the Girls Category B after carding the best round of the day of 79 over Vibha Nath and Sana Hussain is atop the Girls Category D on a perfect day for tournament golf.
