September 07: An Induction Ceremony of the Chief Secretary of Meghalaya, Shri K. S. Kropha as the new President of the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts & Guides (MBSG) was held today at Raj Bhavan, Shillong in presence of the Governor of Meghalaya and Patron of the MBSG, Shri V. Shanmuganathan, Meghalaya Chief Information Commissioner and former President, MBSG, Shri P. B. O. Warjri, Principal Secretary, Shri M. S. Rao, Commissioner Secretary, Shri D. P. Wahlang, Commissioner Secretary and State Chief Commissioner, MBSG, Shri F. R. Kharkongor, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, Meghalaya State Branch, Shri W. R. Marbaniang, Vice Patrons, Life Members and senior officials.
During the programme, prizes were also distributed to winners of the essay writing competition on the three Heroes of the State – U Tirot Sing Syiem, U Kiang Nangbah and Pa Togan Sangma. Miss Larisa Blah, Umpling Presbyterian Secondary School, Miss Kimkime R. Sangma, Seven Set Higher Secondary School and Miss Saphi Badondor W. Makdoh, Church of God bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize respectively. Miss Ibapaka Khongjee, Umpling Presbyterian Secondary School and Miss Imatti Warimi Thabah, Seven Set Higher Secondary School got the consolation prizes.
