Shillong, July 23: The conglomeration of the NGOs from Garo Hills has written to the home minister Roshan Warjri saying that, all thus armed insurgents who surrender to start a new life need immediate counseling and skill training programmed as per their qualification.
This youth who has been misguided on the apple of the Church leaders and NGOs from Garo Hills has come to surrender themselves before the government and at present they were kept within the precincts of the Meghalaya police batellion at Georagre of the West Garo Hills District without any counseling or allowed them to interact with the outside world.
These NGOs from Garo Hills urged the government, in-order to enable this surrendered cadres to merge themselves in the mainstream, it is necessary to give them proper counseling and provide them with proper skill development in vocational training according to their social background and qualification.
In order to make them self-sustainable in the future to this youth who have come to join the mainstream, the need of the hours is to counsel them and give them immediate training, this petition to the home minister was sign by eight NGOs from Garo Hills.
