Shillong, Aug 10, 2014: The Indian Army is conducting a Recruitment Rally for male candidates at 58 Gorkha Training Centre, Happy Valley, Shillong for all eleven Districts of Meghalaya from 22nd-25th August, 2014 from 5:00 AM. The recruitment is for the posts of Soldier General Duty, Tradesman, Soldier Technical and Soldier Clerk category.
For Soldier General Duty and Tradesman, the recruitment is scheduled to be held on 22-8-2014 for the Districts of East Garo Hills, West Garo Hills, South Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills and North Garo Hills, 23-8-2014 for the Districts of East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills and 24-8-2014 for Ri Bhoi, West Jaintia Hills and East Jaintia Hills District. For Soldier Technical and Soldier Clerk, the recruitment will be held on 25.8.2014.
Candidates should be between 17 ½ and 21 years of age for Soldier General Duty and 17 ½ and 23 years for other categories. Information about the educational qualification and other details can be obtained from the Recruiting Office Headquarters, Shillong or the nearest Army Recruiting Office.
The candidates participating in the rally will have to pass 1.6 km run, various physical tests and medical examination. The written test for selected candidates will be held on 31st August, 2014 at Army Public School, Shillong. Venue for written test of selected Soldier Clerk category candidates will be intimated later on.
