As goodwill gesture, BSF handed over 15 strayed cattle to BGB of Bangladeshi  

Shillong, Feb 21: The BSF Meghalaya in its efforts to strengthen the relations with Bangladesh Border Guarding Force, handed over 15 strayed cattle which had entered into Indian territory while grazing in the bordering area of West Jaintia Hills District to Border Guard Bangladesh on 20th Feb 2022.

Troops of 97 Bn BSF under Meghalaya Frontier had detained these cattle while conducting patrol in the area. A meeting was conducted between both the forces on the request of Border Guard Bangladesh to address the plight of cattle owners.

The BSF act of good will gesture is praised by BGB as well as Bangladeshi bordering populace. BSF official said that due to partially unfenced, Border livestock often cross to other side of Border and such instances are utilised to enhance confidence building measures and strengthen the relations between both the Border Guarding Forces.
