Shillong, June 25: The State Government have taken note of certain media report with serious concern Where sections of the media had carried out the news indicating that the Government intends to declare certain areas of Garo Hills region as “Disturbed Area”.
It is reiterated that at no point of time the I Chief Minister has indicated to the media that the Government intends to declare any part of Garo Hills region as “Disturbed Area”. The Chief Minister has only responded to the specific query during the’media briefing that the Government keeps all the options available open while dealing with the militant and insurgent activities and restore sustainable peace.
It is further clarified that comprehensive action plan utilizing all the resources under the State’s command has already been ‘chalked out by the State Government to deal effectively with the problems of militant and terrorist organizations in the State and bring in sustain peace.(SP News)
