SHILLONG, July 13: Preparations are in full swing for the 2018 Assembly elections as the delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mawsynram Mandal and BJP East Khasi Hills District on 9 July 2016 held a public meeting at Ryngku village to make the public aware of the ideology and stand of the party on various issues.
The delegation led by Hamless Syiemlieh, President Mawsynram Manda, Kisborly Kharbani, Vice-President BJP East Khasi Hills including party workers of the BJP from border areas and hundreds of people who have attended the meeting.
The public meeting was organized by Bipul Banai, headman of Pataghat village which was also participated by people from 4 Polling Station which includes Pataghat, Lalpani, Ryngku and Kyrdoh.
Speaking at the public meeting Kisborly Kharbani observed that soon after the BJP came into power in India there has been a wave of change in all the states ruled by the Congress which has now collapsed and the BJP is only waiting for the 2018 MLA election to dethrone the Congress party from the state.
According to him, the Congress party despite being in power has not brought any developmental activities in Mawsynram constituency and especially in border areas in which majority of the inhabitants are non-Khasi.
He urged the people by stating that if the BJP comes into power the party will put into operation various developmental schemes in the region.
