BSF intensified its operation along the Indo border with Bangladesh

Shillong, April 08: The Border Security Force(BSF)  has increased the vigilance in border area of Meghalaya along Bangladesh to seal the border for peaceful Lok Sabha general election in the State.

To avoid any untoward incident,  BSF has   launched a special operations on border. The strength on border has been augmented, and senior officers with all paraphernalia including medical, communication and motor transport are camping at border outposts.

To ensure maximum strength is available on operational duty leaves, training etc have been curtailed. Based on lists of sensitive booths falling along indo-BD border and int intputs, special patrolling and other operation are conducted by BSF troops in coordination with Police to create to sense of security among the voters of state. Special emphasis have been given to South Garo Hills districts.

Besides duties on border, twelve companies of BSF Meghalaya Frontier are also deployed in North East for conducting of free and fair poll in State. 08 companies are deployed in state of Meghalaya and Mizoram for conducting of poll today.(SP News)
