Shillong, April 11: The Confederation of Ri-Bhoi People (CoRP), central body has unanimously decided to conduct a debate competition in Ri-Bhoi District on the theme, ‘Advantage and Disadvantage of Railway Project’ as to testify on the favour of the local people on the need of railway connectivity into the state.
“The debate competition will be conducted by the organization on the fact that there are some organizations who opposed on the coming of the railway line into the state, however, in order to get the consensus majority from the local people of Ri-Bhoi District, the organization has come forward to conduct this debate competition”, Vice President of CORP central body Bandari Ryntathing told to this reporter.
The debate competition will be conducted on June 16 at the head quarter of the District at Nongpoh and the organization will also divide the debate into two section that is one will go for motion and other group will go for against the motion.
He also informed that this debate competition is an open debate for all debaters who want to participate in the competition and cashed award also will be awarded to the winner of the competition.
Lastly, he said that the organization wanted to conduct this competition as to get the absolute majority of the people who want railway line and the people who does not want the railway line in the state.
For the further information, the people who want to participate in this competition they can meet the leaders of the organization including the leaders from Unit and circles, he added.(SP News)
