Darang and Mawlongbna villages decided not to allowed tourist to come as to contain COVID-19

Shillong, March 18: The two villages, Darang and Mawlongbna who run tourist spot in their area has taken the decision not to allowed tourist from outside the state as well foreign tourist to visit the tourist spot in their village as precautionary measure to contain COVID-19.

Mr Reachingson Kongwang of Darang Village of West Jiantia Hills District inform that the Executive Dorbar of the village along with the Darrang Tourism Promotion and Development Society has decided that as a precautionary measure that they will not allowed tourist to visit tourist spot in their village.

The decision was taken to cooperate with the directive issued from the Meghalaya State Government as part of the precautionary to contain COVID-19, said Mr Mr Reachingson Kongwang Chairman of the  Darrang Tourism  Promotion and  Development Society.

The Executive Dorbar of Mawlongbna village in East Khasi Hills District under Mawsynram block along with the Mawlyngbna Multi Purpose Society has decided to cooperate with the directive of the Meghalaya state government in taking precaution to contain COVID-19.

Mr Lurshai Tohtih one of the member of the executive Dorbar inform that they have decided to close Umkhakoi Dam and others tourist spot in their village for tourist coming in the area as precaution to contain COVID-19.
