Shillong, June 06: A new interactive web portal www.ksb.gov.in has recently been launched through the aegis of Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (DESW), Ministry of Defence (MoD) to help veterans, war widows and their dependents avail of the various schemes of the Government with relative ease online.The web portal was launched by Hon’ble Defence Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar, in Delhi, on the NIC cloud replacing the erstwhile non-interactive MoD website of DESW hitherto used for similar purposes.
Through this software (PMSS), ESM and their dependents can submit online Applications from anywhere using their smart phones, laptops and desktop computers.
Also, respective Zila Sainik Boards/Regional Sainik Boards can process their e-applications online. The portal comprises a website for Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) Secretariat showcasing complete information about its various welfare schemes for ESM and their dependents that will be accessible on click of a button.
The workflow for online administration of Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) with 5,500 scholarships being disbursed every academic year to support professional degree level education of the wards of ESM and widows can also be monitored online by the applicants.
The process will also enable KSB Secretariat to select applicants as per guidelines of the subject scheme. Apart from this, the KSB/RSB/ZSBs can generate merit list and prepare payment lists for releasing the scholarship amounts into bank accounts of the applications through RTGs/NEFT.
The software also facilitates intimation to applicants about submission of their applications, selection of the applicants and releasing of related payments by auto- generated SMSs/Emails. Checking and tracking status of e-applications by the respective applications on real time basis from anywhere and anytime is an added feature of the software. This new website will be really beneficial to all ESMs.
