Jowai, January, 07: The District Election Officer, West Jaintia Hills District, on Saturday held a meeting with the representatives of Political Parties of the District which comprised of INC, HSPDP, NPP and BJP and handed over copies of the published Final Photo Electoral Rolls with reference to 01.01.2013 as the qualifying date of all the 4 ( four) Assembly Constituencies viz, 1- Nartiang Assembly Constituencies, 2-Jowai Assembly Constituencies, 3- Raliang Assembly Constituencies and 4-Mookaiaw Assembly Constituencies.
Thereafter, discussion was also held relating to the forthcoming Legislative Assembly Elections 2013 with special references to ECI (Election Commission of India) instructions relating to Political parties like Model Code of Conduct. It was agreed that the key to smooth conduct of Elections is coordination and cooperation of all Government functionaries, political parties and the public in general.(SP News)
