Shillong, July 19: Dr. Bikash Sharma, President and Founder Trustee of International Academic and Management Association (IAMA) was recently bestowed with the prestigious President’s Volunteer Service Award in the United States of America (USA).
The Award was given in recognition for his relentless work in the field of education at a global level and for making a positive and deep impact on the lives of the student community as their role model. The award includes a Gold Medal, a Certificate and a Letter of Appreciation signed by the US President Donald Trump
The President’s Volunteer Service Award was instituted in the year 2003 by the President’s Council on Service and Civil Participation. The award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities and inspires those around them to take action too. The Awarding Body is led by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), a federal agency under the US Government
Recognized internationally for his contribution in the field of education, Dr. Sharma has received numerous national and international awards and titles including the prestigious ASIA HRD Award last year at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
He was also the recipient of several academic honors including the Honorary Doctorate and Honorary Professorship titles from International American University, California, USA less than a month ago
An astute management professional, Dr. Bikash Sharma was born in Shillong in the year 1975. He completed his schooling from St. Edmund’s School followed by the College from St. Anthony’s College.
A merit student, Dr. Sharma was a rank holder at both the Pre-University and Degree level, having received a Gold Medal for being a First Class First Rank Holder in Commerce in the year 1997.
Dr. Sharma moved to New Delhi in 1998 for his Post Graduate studies and completed his PGDBA from IBS. In the past, he has worked with several multi-national organizations in various management capacities including GE – Global Service Operations and iGate- Global Service Operations
Dr. Sharma is currently the President and Founder Trustee of International Academic and Management Association (IAMA) which was established with his efforts in the year 2013.
Since his early working days, Dr. Sharma had a keen inclination towards education and wanted to do something which would make education more practical, dynamic, boundary less and affordable for all. His dream became a reality with IAMA.
Today, IAMA under his stewardship, has its footprints in over 43 countries offering its services to nearly 200 educational institutions, benefitting thousands of studentsglobally
Additionally, Dr. Sharma is also the CEO of iDeliver Services, an IT and IT Enabled Services organization which he set-up in the year 2005. The organization offers B2B IT and IT Enabled Services to its clients with the motto of “delivering service with quality on time every time”
Dr. Sharma is also on the Board of Advisors of several educational institutions globally including POMA International Business University (Worldwide), Oxford University of Namibia, CEPRES International University, Crown International University, Da Vinci University etc to name a few.
He is also the Advisor to the Jury Council of Asia One Magazine which is a leading B2B magazine with circulation in 10 countries across South East Asia and GCC
Considering his role as a global change agent in the field of education, Dr. Sharma has been appointed as the Co-Chair of the Center for Education Sustainability Board located in the USA
Dr. Sharma is also a Trustee with Earth Quotient, a pressure group working on issues related to the environment and the voiceless
He has also been the Advisor to the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of Liberia, working closely with the government on issues related to Food Security, Agriculture Technology and Education
Dr. Sharma and IAMA’s contribution in the field of education has been widely recognized on the global platform. The same is evident from the numerous national and international awards won by both Dr. Sharma and IAMA since inception.
Since his early days, Dr. Sharma had a dynamic and dedicated approach towards his work. He has always been an outstanding troubleshooter and out of the box thinker which earned him a lot of respect and recognition in the industries he worked in
