Shillong, July 27: Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, Forests, Environment and Climate Change, Government of India, will be inaugurating Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) Meghalaya at 6th Mile, Upper Shillong tomorow.
The main mandate of IBSD is the conservation and sustainable utilization of bioresources for the socio-economic development of the region, said Prof Dinabandhu Sahoo, Director IBSD.
Dr Sahoo also said that IBSD Meghalaya is being setup to identify the unique bioresources of the state that can boost the bio-economy and generate jobs for the unemployed youth through bio-entrepreneurship.
He also welcomed all the unemployed youth and farmers to IBSD Meghalaya so that specific interventions can be developed for them.
