Drowning Competitions for school children on road safety held at Ampati

Ampati, May 10:  As part of the Road Safety and  Traffic Awareness drive being organized jointly by South West Garo Hills District Police, District Administration and District Transport Office across the district, various competitions were held for school students at Ampati Government Higher Secondary School on Wednesday.

The competitions including quiz, essay-writing, drawing and extempore speech were based on road safety and traffic rules to promote greater awareness among the young school children. The highlight of the programme was the quiz competition conducted by quizmaster Sanjib Das that evoked keen interest from the students, teachers and officials alike.

ADC Ampati, Mary T. Sangma, EAC Florina Boro, District Transport Officer S. K. Marak, District School Education Officer, C.J. Sangma and district police officials were among those who were present during the day-long competitions.

Earlier on Tuesday, road safety and traffic awareness programme was organized exclusively for school teachers at the same venue, where they were given awareness on various provisions of Motor Vehicles Act and pamphlets on road safety rules were also distributed to them.
