Due to bad road, MMOEA will not be able to transport extracted coal before the death line

Shillong, May 01: The Meghalaya Mines Owners and Exporters Association (  MMOEA) felt that due  to the bad road condition from Nongjri to Borsora land custom station, Third Miles to Borsora and from Nongjri to Bakli Land Custom Station, the exporter will not be able to meet with the death line said by the  supreme court to complete transpiration of extracted coal before the 30th of this month.

From the MMOEA urged the authority concern to pleased consider for the area if they could extend the time limit. The road condition from Nongjri to Borsora LCS and from Third Miles to Borsora and from Nongjri to Bakli LCS in dilapidated condition where truck capsize every day in this road, this has made transportation of coal for export to Bangladesh very slow from South West Khasi Hills District.

The president of the MMOEA Mr Julius C Diengngan said that this road are so bad that slowdown the movement of truck to export coal to Bangladesh. The exporter will not be able to complete transportation of the extracted coal before the time frame set by the Supreme Court. From the MMOEA appeal to the concern authority to extent the time limit.

He, Mr Diengngan urged on the local MLA Mr Martin M Danggo who is the PWD minister of the state government to take urgent step for repairing of this road so that the exporters could transport the extracted coal before the time frame set by the Supreme Court.
