Enquiry on human rights violation Notice has been issued to the DG of Police

Shillong, February 28: The Secretary, Meghalaya Human Rights Commission has informed that the Commission has received a complaint of Violation of Human Rights by the personnel of the Meghalaya Police and the State Commission has taken cognizance of the case.

Notice has been issued to the Director General of Police, Meghalaya, for an enquiry to be conducted into the allegations made by the complainants, namely, Shri Obinest Rodborne, resident of Domskong, Syntein Village, P.O. Mawsynram, East Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya and Shri. Pynskhemlang Rodborne, resident of Lyngkhom Village, P.O. Mawsynram, East Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya.

The enquiry should be conducted by an Officer not below the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) and to submit the report within 30 days of receipt of the Notice.
