GNRC Hospitals, launched a new scheme for the free treatment of accident and emergency patients

Guwahati, 10 June, :GNRC Hospitals, the premier healthcare institution of North East India launched a new scheme today for the free treatment of accident and emergency patients. Launching the scheme Chairman of GNRC Ltd Dr. Nomal Chandra Borah said, “Human life is precious. But everyday many lives are lost prematurely.

Accidents are one of the most common causes behind this untimely and sudden loss of life. In such a situation the sooner they are treated more will be the possibility of their survival. Keeping this in view, and for the overall wellbeing of the society GNRC Hospitals has taken a bold and revolutionary step towards providing free treatment for the first 24 hours after an accident.

This scheme will cover patients suffering from stroke, heart attack and other medical emergencies also. The free facility will cover doctor’s consultation, bed charge, minimum but essential medicines, oxygen, CT Scan, ECG, X-Ray and limited blood tests.” Dr. J P Sarma, Medical Director, GNRC Hospitals-Dispur and Sixmile and Dr. Atanu Barthakur, Director, Trauma and Emergency services, GNRC Hospitals were also present in the programme.

It’s noteworthy to mention here that the facility was initially launched in the newly opened GNRC Medical near IIT Guwahati about a month ago. The scheme was a massive hit among the masses and that inspired the authorities to extend the facility to its other two units in the heart of Guwahati city as well.(SP News)
