Shillong, July 29: Today hundreds of Hindu devoties take part at the annual kawad to Mawjymbuin cave in Mawsynram, the kawad started from Mahadev today in the moring, Dham temple where the devoties fill the pot with water and caring along with them walking on foot of a distance of 60 kilometers from Shillong to Mawsynram.
This devotees who are in a annual kawad they have to spent one night half way and they will continued walking tomorrow morning to reach Mawjymbuin cave, and to perform their rituals and coming back to Shillong. This annual kawad has been practice almost a decade by the hindu devoties.
The Deputy Commissioner East Khasi Hills District Mr P S Dkhar told SP News Agency that the annual kawad from Mahadev started this morning and the devotees today they will spend the night at Lyniong and tomorrow morning they will proceed to Mawjymbuin Cave at Mawsynram.
The Deputy Commissioner also said that from the District administration has taken all step to see that the annual kawad concluded peace fully. All security measure has been taken care off.
