If the GOI is willing they are ready to go for a political dialogue: HNLC

Shillong, June 12: The publicity Secretary of the band outfit  Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) Mr Sainkupar Nongtraw in his email press statement  issued to media houses , he said that they have started their  struggle 29 years ago with an ideology, and based on their  ideology they have are carrying forward their  struggle.

He (Sainkupar) said that unlike other organisations who were just born without ideologies that made it easier for them to surrender. On the the statement of the Chief Minister  regarding his negativity not to hold any political dialogues with the outfit  is just a ploy to derail our motivation towards peace talks.

By making such irresponsible contradictory statements the Chief Minister exhibits his child-like and dictatorial behavior alleged the publicity secretary of the HNLC. He wants to portray that he is the boss of the MUA 2 and nobody in the cabinet has a right to go against his dictatorial powers.

The HNLC offers its gratitude to the leader of HNYF Sadon Blah, KHNAM youth wing President Thomas passah, KSU and UDP’s MLA Embhah Syiemlieh for raising their concerns on the adamant attitude of the Chief Minister in connection with peace talks. Sainkupar said the HNLC wonder why The Khasi Jaintia MLAs are keeping mum in this issue. They are letting the Chief Minister take them away for a ride.

The disbanding ceremonies of ANVC, ANVC(B), and UALA proves beyond doubt that only Garo outfits are capable of entering into peace talks with the Chief Minister . The HNLC remaind what Late PA Sangma said, that the Chief Minister should not forget the statements. The publicity secretary said that the the Chief minister  addresses to the HNLC  as Militants on the one hand and doesn’t hesitate to shake hands of the Garo militant leaders on the other hand with pomp gaiety and show.

The band outfit alleged that Chief Minister had inked peace talks with Garo outfits. Now it should be clear to the people of khasi jaintia hills that from the HNLC had tried their level best to prove their sincerity to obtain peace and harmony, but were provoked by the negative attitude of the CM to choose the violent path. Earlier they were not taken seriously as it appeared to the Chief Minister that we were less in numbers.

The Publicity secretary said in his statement sent by email, now they are being labeled as militants because they  have attained military might. How long will the Chief Minister fool the people of khasi jaintia hills and empower only his own community. The outfit  said that this attitude of the Chief minister  shall bring in his downfall. The Home Minister is also mum on the issue of our proposed talks.

It was due to the assurance of the Chief Minister and the Home minister that  they  had waited for long for the appointment of an interlocutor. Now it seems that they have been fooled all along. This game of lies has made things murkier and bitter. How can they achieve peace and harmony when the leader of a state is a liar. At the beginning of 2015 they had ample hope in the Chief Minister  for nurturing the peace talks and lead the state  towards peace and development. But the contradictory statements of the CM have turned the tables.

Now that they have hope in the Prime Minister and Kiran rijiju of solving the problem for a political dialogue, they  have decided not to boycott this year’s Independence Day  celebrations as a gesture and proof that they  want peace. This step is taken to convince the Prime Minister that they  are open to commitment on peace irrespective of what the Chief Minister  of Meghalaya thinks or does. The Chief Minister  is against peace talks because he wants to use the surrendered cadres as his puppets like it is done in Garo hills.

Siankupar  said that they  stand firm to the principles of their  ideology, they  stand to defend the rights of  the  people. Simply surrendering like newborn outfits should not be expected at any cost.

If the Government Of India  is willing then they  are ready to go for a political dialogue with the Government  Of  India and according to its instructions. The Chief Minister ‘s ego is more important to him than anything else. Let him live with his ego, but we as an organization of armed struggle shall keep the interests of our ‘Jaidbynriew’ as our sole and primary concern. Said Saiñkupar Nongtraw Publicity Secretary,HNLC, in his statement issued to media houses today.
