Immediate action will be taken for not releasing the fund meant for ADCs:Kumar

Shillong, June 9: Mr. Conrad Sangma the MP from Tura Lok Sabha today meet the Niti Ayog official  in connection with the fund released by the government of India meant  for the Autonomous District Council in Meghalaya.

In his meeting with Mr. Jitender Kumar an official of the Niti Ayog advisor for  Meghalaya, In this meeting Mr Sangma stressed on the delay in release of funds meant for the district councils which was sanctioned by the Government  of India in the last financial year.

A sum of Rs.270 crore was released by Government of India for all ADCs in Meghalaya on the 18th February this year. The Govt of Meghalaya has not released those funds to the respective ADCs till date.

Mr. Kumar expressed concern over the delay in releasing these funds to the ADCs and told Mr Sangma that the state Govt should have released the funds immediately as these are tied funds meant for the ADCS.

Mr. Kumar has assured Mr Sangma that immediate action will be taken in this regard from the Niti Ayog side and the state Government will be urged to release the fund as soon as possible.
